I used "google translate" to check the corresponding English words for 真理, it is "truth". I checked the corresponding Chinese words for "truth", they are:
1. 真理
2. 真相
3. 真实
4. 实话
5. 真实性
6. 理
7. 真情
8. 谛
9. 真义
Let me assume 真理 = truth. What is truth? There must have been tons of discussions of this question from the ancient times. I'm ignorant and only read very few.
If I just came back from the rest room and say that I I just came back from the rest room, my statement is true. Its content is truth.
If I say that a bachelor is a man who is not marries, I am stating a definition. Is it a truth? Maybe in another place with the same language, a bachelor is used to give the notion of a man who is married. "Bachelor" is just a notation for a notion. But if there is universal agreement that "bachelor" is a notation for the notion of a unmarried man, is it a truth? It is. It is an algebra operation to assign a value to a variable X (here X is "bachelor").
Those were discussed in many web sites.
v = s/t
Is that a truth? It may be another definition.
"Man acts."
Is that a truth? It may be another definition because it is equivalent to "man is an animal who acts".
F=ma
Is that a truth? It is another definition.
All those definitions are all based on observations and corresponding to reality that has existed so far.
Based on those definitions and deductive reasoning process, a train of thoughts can be developed. And all the thoughts in the train can be regarded as truth.
If new observations strongly oppose to the definitions previously thought to be truth, new definitions are used as the starting point of the deductive reasoning process; and old definitions are discarded.
Is it a trick that human brains play on the humans?
Is there any truth or 真理 in this world? If so, what is the basis of truth or 真理? If not, what is the point of collecting data? Just for the sake of collecting, like women collecting their hats or bags or like birds collecting shiny objects?

Godel's incompleteness theorem says that a formal logical system such as an arithmetic system is not complete in the sense that there are some truth that it cannot prove and even they are added to its system, there are still more truth that it cannot prove. The set of what can be proved is smaller than the set of truth. To make logical sense, humans must add stuff that is based on their observation in the real world into that formal system. Formal logical system is sterile.
No one is the world only use formal logical system in their reasoning process. Every one must use real world observations also. So Godel's incompleteness theorem is not a refutation of the deductive logical thinking process. It is the real world observations that make the deductive logical thinking process complete.
Truth is based on the real world - both the inanimate and animate (including humans) world. - Re: What is 真理?posted on 05/07/2010
Data is such as I went to the restroom to piss 12 minutes and 34 seconds ago. What do I get from that data? Nothing. Maybe not nothing. I at least get the idea that "man pisses." But that is too rudimentary and is not even regarded as a worthwhile truth by most humans.
What do you do with your data?
