在加州淘金热潮的时候, 矿工会采摘这种富含维生素C的野菜来做沙拉.
由此而来这种马齿苋属(a member of the purslane family)的野菜现在被称为为矿工的生菜(Miner's lettuce).
今天雨后见到它们完美的心形状的叶子尤为可爱.
These succulent leaves were named "miner's lettuce" because they were eaten by the California gold miners. Miner's lettuce is a native plant that grows in many hillside regions of the west coast. To use just collect the greens, rinse well and use like lettuce. Use the tender leaves raw in salads. The leaves taste similar to spinach. You can steam the leaves and stems and eat like any green.

也喜欢心形状的叶子,东部的red bud是比较常见的有心形状的叶子的树,花也灿烂。要过一段时间才开花,然后叶子才发芽。

我上一次去hidden villa hiking也拍了一些, 还摘了一叶子吃。 淡淡无味。
Lucy今日你可用它做一盘salad和他分享, 比什么花的, 巧克力的要unique多了哈。
