The Game I Play to Myself
First came the anxiety
Knowing that time is near
Time has come
Time has passed
Leaving nothing tangible
Nothing sustainable
Next came the evasion
Happily and blissfully losing my track
In the ashes of time
Oh so innocently
Then there was a major breakdown
Drowning in the addiction of
Whatever I put my hands on
And in case you don't know the difference:
Addiction is all the highs without the fun
Then repeat the step 1,2,3
It forms a vicious cycle, a downward spiral
And around and around I go
Like a hamster in her wheel
The Game you play to yourself
By yourself, with yourself, against yourself
Is the lonest game of all
When you become your own enemy
Or worse, an enemy posed as a confidant
Lurking behind the sincere face
With murderous intention
Have you ever looked into the mirror and
See a monster staring back?
I have stopped looking into a mirror
Long time ago

Sounds like you are describing a classic example of split personalities.
Just kidding.
It's an interesting poem. - Re: The Game I Play to Myselfposted on 01/31/2005
